Metropolitan Enforcement Group Strikes Again

Reported on the News Sun, the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Lake County Illinois has struck again.   Storming the house of a man with no contraband, they held guns to the faces of private citizens in their own homes.  

Architect Paul Brown was in the basement of his home at the end of Adelphi Avenue when he heard a “huge noise” Friday afternoon that drew him up the stairs where he was meet by gun in his face.
He was handcuffed and placed on a chair. And a gun was still pointed at his face.

Why a gun was pulled on a guy in his own home, and why it was still on his face while he was handcuffed is beyond comprehension.    When have we descended to a society where the "war on drugs" justifies actions such as aggravated assault, and criminal damage to property?   The police were reported as being angry the suspects were not guilty of something too!

“They were upset they didn’t find anything. When I asked them who was going to pay for the door they basically said, ‘Not us’,” said Brown, who noted the door on his luxury home was valued at $3,000 some 12 years ago and the lock set was another $130 from Home Depot.

Of course these actions simply end up costing taxpayers a lot of money.   So even if you support the war on drugs, you can't argue that it's not costing you money.

He has hired an attorney, Christopher Cohen, to look into filing a civil suit.

How often does this happen and it results in an unwarranted arrest on made up charges?    How difficult or far fetched is it to think this dishonest cop would plant drugs in order to make an arrest?   Were these guys just lucky that the officer didn't have any on him?   Stay Aware!

Can't keep bad Cops down.

Lake County Illinois, the county just to the north of Cook County has been the center of numerous travesties of justice.   One of the most recent is what the Chicago Tribune reported:  Lou Tessmann, and Jeffrey Pavletic have been teaching taxpayer  funded courses to certify other officers, even though both have been accused of improper interrogation techniques.   As you may or may not recall, Pavletic worked at the Lake County state's attorney's office and was in charge of the Jerry Hobbs case, in which an innocent man spent 5 years in jail awaiting trial for the murder of his daughter that he didn't commit.   The case was so messed up, that one of the County Prosecutors was selected to take the fall in order to keep Michael Waller in the clear.

Waller on the other hand is too busy announcing that police officers broke no laws when beating someone to death, and will not prosecute them.   Of course not, the Police are an integral part of Waller's income.  Of course the good news is that Waller is retiring, so it's up to the remaining citizens of Lake County to elect a good and righteous State's Attorney...   I suggest electing someone who wants to fix the problems in Lake County's Law Enforcement and Judicial system, but the candidates look like a bunch of status quo types to me.

Look out for latest Illinois sin tax

The Illinois General Assembly is hard at work protecting the interests of the Chicago Political machine.   This time, they wish to create a new grant fund called the High Crime Trauma Center Grant Fund.  The proposal is HB5167 and it was proposed by Democrat Kelly Cassidy, and Democrat Kimberly du Buclet.    Is taxing a right ethical?   Can I tax a church extra for being allowed to practice religion?   Can I tax Kimberly du Buclet extra for having perjurous opinions?  I am not a republican, I am not a democrat, I'm just some hick what lives in the woods with too many guns... but what I see here is a dirty scheme for democrats to levy a tax that will mostly only affect republicans, third party and non-partisan people.   This kind of politically targeted taxation is wrong.   So how come the people of Illinois aren't trying to charge Kelly Cassidy and Kimberly du Buclet with perjury, a violation of their oath, as well as several violations of the state, and federal constitutions?   Show your lawmakers there are consequences for being evil... otherwise they will simply continue to be evil.
